Routine Precaution after Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a surgery, which has become very common these days. Rhinoplasty is not as complicated as other surgeries; it is the reshaping of nose. In today’s generation, people have become very conscious about their look, appearance and beauty. Not only the celebrities but also the common people are also undergoing this surgery, as looks have become important in both i.e. personal as well as professional level. There are among thousands of people in this world who have defective nose from their childhood or de-shaped due to accident. Rhinoplasty has proved to be the best solution for such people and I must say it is very easier and simple operation with short time recovery.
I am compiling few important precautions, which are to be taken care after surgery:
•    After surgery, elevate your head and shoulders on two or more pillows at least for the first week.
•    Do not sniff or blow your nose for around 15-20 days after surgery, as you might face the bleeding.
•    As after this surgery, the patients face swells and reddens for few days, it is necessary that he does not lift or bend heavy objects that results in enhanced swelling. Doctors too advise three weeks rest after this surgery.
•    Activities like running, aerobics or cycling could be very harmful and has not recommended up to four weeks post surgery by doctors.
•    Avoid hitting your nose for a month or so, after surgery.
•    Some sports like baseball, footy, etc. are also restricted up to eight weeks after the surgery as the bones take some time to heal properly.
•    If you have vomiting, nausea, breathing problem, etc. after medication. Please consult your doctor.
As “Health is Wealth”, I hope this article will help to remove the myths about rhinoplasty and might help the patients to take quick recovery after their nose job.
